Remember when…..??? January 21, 2011

Remember when you first have a baby…a brand new life has entered the world and that next feeling is like none other…it is a feeling that you can’t explain. Only parents that have been right in the same situation can tell you how it feels…it is like an outer body experience. And people…I am here to tell you I am experiencing it!

I am EXHAUSTED! I mean, beyond it….I have had a sick little lady and I have been a little under the weather myself…and let me just say…NO FUN HAS BEEN HAD!
I am beside myself tired, what sleep her and I have gotten has been on the couch…as you can imagine, my back loves me! So today I bundled us all up (Ethan too, SNOW DAY) and we headed to Kroger. Yes I said Kroger….on the left side of this place that has changed my life is a place called The Little Clinic:) It is an urgent care of sorts, yet it is FAST and they only charge you for a DR visit not an Urgent Care visit…but wait, it gets better. They send your perscriptions directly to the pharmacy and they are done like instantly….:) So grabbed some yogurt, some sprite and off to the pharm to pick up my FREE antibiotics and home we came!:) We are both on the pink medicine and will be feeling good in no time….we probably 24 hours to be exact…but who is counting!:)
I have informed my husband that I have gotten to my whits end today…between being yelled at, coughed on, snotted on and watching Strawberry Shortcake all week…I need a break!
So after dinner I get to go to Target…alone:) I am going to the one farthest from my house…that is where our Dunkin Donuts is…that is part of my plan as well…:)

It will be quiet…very quiet. The sad part is, I will probably miss her…hahaha

WHAT? Its been how long??? January 7, 2011

Well with the gentle nudging (more like constant badgering..haha) from a few friends, I have remembered my password (with some help from our friends here @ WordPress) and hopped back on the blogwagon:)
So here goes nothing…to be honest I can’t remember what I blogged last time…the last couple years are pretty much a blur, which is probably better because if I could see it clearly it may make me cry…or question, or just sigh REALLY loud! Bush Manor has taken some HUGE changes…jobs, locations, finances, churches, friends, etc…so as you can imagine our once solid life was challenged. And not all in good ways..haha I can laugh now, well actually I laughed alot then too…mostly from disbelief that THIS was my life, and then sometimes because if I didn’t laugh, I would cry….ALL the time! And that is good for NOBODY! Especially me! If you know me @ all you know I am not a fan of public crying…I mean doing it, not someone else, so these changes were bringing out a weepy side I was not fond of!
Funny (not funny like haha, funny like ironic, nice funny) that no matter how much the storms raged…AND BOY DID THEY RAGE! And even tho I felt the affects of the storms( yes multiple …@ the same time even)..there was an underlying calmness that was even more present & constant. I knew that regardless of what happened, how things seemed to be going, WE were right smack dab in the center of His hand:) He was holding, protecting and making provisions for us the entire time. And in the times when it was the darkest, He was the light that brought us through it.
Now being on the other side of it, still feeling small after affects @ times, which is normal for storms of that caliber,I can say with the utmost confidence, I am the daughter that Jesus loves!
We are in the place we have been designed to be in, in many senses. I have walked into 2011 with GREAT expectations! Know that the latter of 2010 my life and outlook has radically changed because of His love!
Bush Manor (every part of it) is better for the things we learned, the trials we faced and the strength we have gained.
So heres to 2011! I don’t know about anyone else, but here things are good (finally) but I am not settling for good…we are going from GOOD to GREAT this year! In every area I want GREATNESS! Home, school, church, finances, relationships, jobs…GOOD to GREAT!

Is there Chocolate in Heaven??? September 11, 2008

Ethan has all of sudden become very inquisitive about death…and wondering what happens when we die and how we get to heaven, etc…so last night we got into a huge discussion about Jesus, and death, and heaven.  Of course this is when it was bedtime, he couldn’t have started this conversation about 6 PM right? 

So he was quite distraught when we got to the part that we all die and go to heaven sometime, he didn’t like that idea…so I got him settled and came down stairs, only to listen to him wail and cry for about 10 minutes….when I finally had had enough, I went up to see if he had gotten himself in a wierd position that I had to pick him out of or he was bleeding….to find him laying there crying….he said Mommy, I don’t want to go to heaven….I want to stay here forever and I don’t want to get big….so I decided I needed to reiterate the wonderfulness of Heaven…so I put it in Ethan terms….

“Heaven is a super-cool place E, it has race cars, and lots of motorcycles, and movies, and popcorn.  It has swings and slides, and lots of bikes to ride, and all your friends and family will be there.”  He started to smile and then I said, “And CHOCOLATE!!!”  Then he got a HUGE grin on his face and said “Does Jesus have flat chocolate? ” aka Hershey Bar…”O yeah I said, he has lots of flat chocolate”…Ethan then jumped up and said, “OK Mommy, lets go there!” 

Ethan decided he wanted Jesus to come live in his heart last night so he could love Jesus and go to Heaven with all of us….I am not sure if it was for his love for Jesus or Chocolate…either way I am so glad his heart is so pure!!    I love that boy!:)

Capoons! September 3, 2008

“CAPOONS!!!!!”  Which is Ethan talk for cocoons…:)  haha

This spring I saw these on TV, that you can harvest your own catapillars and watch the glorious change of them becoming butterflies, cool huh???  Well I found the kit @ WM for about 1/4th of the price as they were on TV…of course!  So here we are, we have grown the catapillars to full grown and they have made their long journey …(to the top of the cup..haha) and have formed their cocoons! 

Ethan is beyond intrigued, that is for sure!  And I have to admit, I am too…:)  Altho sometimes I am a little creeped out when they start movin in there…haha  I am such a girl!:)

Cake Anyone??? September 3, 2008

 

O HOW I WISH……:)  Well today is my 33rd bday, and I have been offered yummy things 3 times this week in celebration…and I have politely turned them down.  Why you ask???  Well tomorrow is weigh in day….dog gone it!!!  Who planned weigh in day the day after my bday???  that is what I want to know…o wait, me!  LOL

My bday always seems to fall on the heel or in the midst of Labor Day weekend which by the way is not always the easiest around these parts…can I just mention we have 11 bdays between mid August and end of Sept that we celebrate in one way or another, so to say that Labor Day is more than a day off of work is an understatement for sure.  There are usually cakes (yes multiple), and hamburger, and all the other good stuff that picnics and holidays and bdays bring…so I did my fair share this weekend already!  Don’t get me wrong, I could have done MUCH worse, but I could have done better too…altho then I would have not eaten anything…haha  but I tried to be a good girl all week knowing that my bday is coming and usually turns into a self-proclaimed week long event!  Hey I am an only child, we know how to celebrate!  haha

But here I sit on my big day and all i have had that is “bad” was 2 pieces of low fat bread for bfast! LOL  not fun!  But noone said it was going to be fun right???  Well they are right, it isn’t!  But I did decide to pull myself out of my slump today and stop feeling sorry for myself and get a life!  So I dropped the kids off @ my parents and am enjoying some decaf coffee and some peace and quiet!   

 When my dad called this morning he said he hoped I got everything I wished for today….I laughed and said, “Well if all my favorite foods had no calories, pts or fat, then Happy Bday to me!”  We both agreed that that was not going to happen, so I decided to wish for WORLD PEACE!:)

Thank You Jesus for my life, I couldn’t have asked for a better one!:)

There is nothing wrong with a good cheeseburger, and there is certainly not anything wrong with a good Krispy Kreme Donut!  But together???  Come on!  haha  I can’t even imagine what that would even taste like…LOL 

Altho when I mentioned it to Raymond he did decide that if it was sausage on there…he could totally do that, with syrup to dip it in…hhmmm he may be onto something there….:)

Well if you know anything about the Bush Family this picture will look familiar!  Ever since the kids (Jay, Amiee, Raymond, Brian & Craig) Dad (Papa) did this with all of them…there at pictures of each of them being hoisted in the air, showing their balancing ablities….  And as you can see the tradition lives!:)

Fruit of our Labor… August 25, 2008

We decided this year to grow tomatoes!  Of course me having the black thumb that I do, I decided lets get 1 plant and put it on the back porch and see what happens!  Well this is what happened!  Ethan and I watered it and watched it grow and I got to eat the fruit of our labor!:)

Tried the popcorn and it is FABULOUS!!!!!

We used it as an object lesson in our WHY WEIGHT meeting…not only is it low fat, but it is easy and cheap!:)
